

July 3rd, Ben and I went crabbing with some friends in Galveston at Clam Lake. We had such a great time! I was 7 months pregnant, craving crabs, and wasn't about to let my growing belly get in the way! LOL! We went with our friends Jason and Aimee and caught about 300 crabs! We were using twine and turkey necks and would sometimes pull 3 and 4 crabs in on a line! It was so awesome! Afterwards we went back to our house and cleaned them in the backyard (which was tedious and extremely messy, but worth it) then went to Aimee's parents house for a Crab Boil and swimming. We had so many crabs left over that we spent 5 hours the next day cleaning the leftovers and vacuum sealing the meat. The end result? Gallon Ziplock bags filled with plump Blue Crab meat. Chef Ben made steak with a lump crab meat cream sauce drizzled over it soon after. TALK ABOUT AMAZING!
